I’m Gillian Heywood, a British figurative artist living and working in the beautiful countryside of the Vendée, in the Pays de la Loire region of western France.
Inspired by the people, villages, and surrounding landscape, I create original paintings in watercolour, oils, and other media. I also host relaxed and friendly art workshops in my home studio, where artists of all levels are welcome.

Art Workshops in the French Countryside
Escape the rush and reconnect with your creativity in a relaxed, rural setting. I offer private one-to-one sessions and small group workshops from my studio, surrounded by the peaceful charm of the Vendée countryside.
Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your technique, my workshops are tailored to your interests and pace. Drawing materials (pencils & paper) are provided, and tea, conversation, and encouragement are always on offer.
